“Viaggio Della Vita” – The Journey Of Life

I found out on Christmas Morning that my Grandmother had passed away. She was 91′ years old and was always extremely supportive of my music. No matter what even if it was screaming heavy metal she was able to find the beauty in it. I remember when I was 18 years old. I had just graduated from High School and the band had just got picked up for a distribution deal. We were getting ready to go out on tour when a bunch of my gear was stolen. I didn’t know what to do, Grandma came to the rescue. She sat me down at the kitchen table in my mothers house and handed me $2000. Her only words to me were “Don’t tell your mother or your Grandafather”, I never told anyone till this day…..

She was an amazingly selfless woman always taking care of us when my mother was working, and always taking care of my Grandfather even when he was really sick. She worked tirelessly, and I think its where my work ethic comes from. “Ill relax when I am dead” she would always say. I wasn’t the greatest kid growing up, but she was always there to help me with anything I ever needed. Even money to buy equipment that was stolen. I bought my first Marshall with that money, went on tour and had a great time.

I spent all of last night and this morning re-working a song I wrote for my Grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary. It only seems fitting that since she passed on my Grandafathers Birthday and that they are now back together in one anothers arms that this song gets the proper treatment it deserves.  Originally this song was an acoustic piece entitled “Viaggio” – The Journey, since everything has now come full circle I have re-arranged the piece to be an ensemble composition. The new piece “Viaggio Della Vita” – The Journey Of Life, is my dedication to the most amazing woman I have ever known in my life…..

One of the most humbling experiences of my life ……

A few days ago I was contacted by a friend to do an interview for a local magazine. I figure why not, some free promo never hurt. When I got to the interview we started talking about the magazine and what they do.

For those of you that don’t know Circles Magazine is a local magazine made by mentally challenged and physically challenged residents in the Las Vegas Area. I was contacted to talk with the staff about my musical journey through the years, music production, my photography and my career in the music business.

I spent my time today playing selections from Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Steve Vai for the staff, as well as some of my own compositions. It was a great experience, and PROOF that if you put your mind to it anything can happen! These individuals are HEROES in my book, overcoming the physical and mental disabilities to work together to create an AMAZING magazine that is informative and a great read! Not only that, they help one another adjust to working society, they have a full production wood shop, AV Facility and more…. It was TRULY humbling for them to ask me to be a part of this and to be in the magazine!

I am sure I will return there in the future to play for them again! THANK YOU to Michelle Wasson and the entire staff at Circles Magazine for this Opportunity!

This was an HONOR today getting to play for everyone at Circles Magazine and TSI! What a great time we had! Check them out and subscribe to their awesome magazine! http://circlesmagazinelasvegas.com/online/

Jason now playing Epiphone Guitars!

Its been a long time coming, but Jason has finally struck a deal with Epiphone guitars. Jason has been playing Epiphone Les Pauls for the last 3 years, and has fallen in love with their features and playability. So why Epiphone?

Jason is playing the following Epiphone Models: (click for more info on each model)
Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty
Epiphone Les Paul Custom Black Back
Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro
Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro

From L to R

Les Paul Custom Pro, Les Paul Black Beauty, Les Paul Black Custom Black Back, Les Paul Standard Pro

Says Jason:
“Honestly originally it was cause of the price, they were cheaper, and definitely more affordable to a musician on a tight budget, but over the last 3 years as I have played them more and more I have realized they ARE just as good as their older brothers. Everyone who has played my Epiphones have been impressed with their tone, playability, and how they hold up. In fact (I can’t say who it was but) They were recently used on a record I recorded buy someone who has their own signature model with a bigger guitar company, and he preferred the Epiphone’s to his own guitars! He played them on the ENTIRE record!

So with that being said, Epiphone guitars are my choice for great playability, great options, and amazing TONE! Dont be fooled, Epiphone Guitars ROCK!”
